We are excited about the many resources through Anthem Blue Cross Life and Health Insurance Company, that are available to control workers' compensation medical costs. Medical expenses represent fifty percent of the benefits paid on behalf of injured workers. Managing medical costs is an integral part of controlling your total workers' compensation expense.

In 1994, Anthem Blue Cross *, a subsidiary of WellPoint Health Networks Inc., started development of a program to integrate group health and workers' compensation. What has evolved from this continued effort is the Workers' Compensation Managed Care Services (WCMCS) business unit of Anthem Blue Cross Life and Health.

WCMCS has taken the strengths of group health managed care and applied them to workers' compensation. The key elements of our program are:

	Access to the Anthem Blue Cross provider networks including hospitals, physicians and ancillary services
	Application of the Anthem Blue Cross negotiated provider discounts
	Bill Review services
	Medical Management
